Product Description: Why Opt for This Bio Sponge Filter?
This Bio Sponge Filter is an excellent choice for several reasons. First and foremost, it efficiently delivers a continuous supply of oxygen while promoting surface agitation in your aquarium, crucial for the health and vitality of your fish. Additionally, it features a dual filtration system—bio and sponge—which effectively keeps the water clear and clean, all while being safe and gentle enough to prevent the accidental suction of small fish.
Key Features: Fine-Hole Bio Sponge
Included with the filter are two sponges, one for immediate use and another as a backup. It's advisable to clean your sponge every 2 to 4 weeks or whenever you notice a reduction in bubble production. Remember to use water from the tank for cleaning.
Filter Container
The filter comes packaged with bioceramic balls, which play a significant role in maintaining water quality. The filter's design allows for easy disassembly, enabling you to replace filter media as necessary.
Installation Made Easy: How to Use
To begin, remove the spare sponge from the package but keep one sponge in place to maintain its fluffiness. Secure the sponge with the fixing buckles. Before placing the filter in your aquarium, rinse it with clean water to eliminate any dust. Connect the air pump and the 4mm air tube to the filter. Squeeze the sponge to saturate it with water, ensuring it sinks properly to the bottom of the tank.
Important Note: The air pump and air hose are not included. Since the two sponges may be compressed together in the packaging, take them apart and gently fluff them to restore their original shape.
Precision Double Filtration
The hygger sponge filter combines a circular bio cotton and a chamber base filled with bio-ceramic balls to offer both mechanical and biological filtration. This design is particularly beneficial for low-flow environments, making it an ideal choice for breeding species such as bettas, guppies, shrimp, snails, and fish fry. It can also serve as a pre-filter for larger filtration systems or act as an auxiliary filter for expansive tanks.
Working Principle
Powered by an air pump, this air-driven sponge filter utilizes the water-lifting effect from rising bubbles to create water flow through the filter sponge. This process effectively captures fish waste and leftover food, contributing to cleaner and purer water.
